Annie sloan in the house

This year was a big year for me and the oh because we bought our first house! The house dates back to 1870 and although there isn't anything major to do to the house there are certain things that will cost money that we have planned. So, in order to save money I decided to up cycle some of our furniture using annie sloan chalk paint. I LOVE this paint! You don't have to sand or prime your item even on varnished surfaces. This is a dresser that I bought for £60 on eBay.

The table is also painted in annie sloan Paris grey but I lost my before photos. The table was waxed with the annie sloan wax but I found it difficult to get an even result which would be fine for some projects but not what I wanted for these pieces. So with the dresser I varnished it with a clear matt varnish and I think it works really well.

E for English Literature

Here is the second initial for my gallery wall. I used the pages of great expectations which I know is terrible to cut up a book! However the main character pip has relevance to my family as my oh's nickname is pip and Its one of my favourite stories. Now I get to see a part of it every time I pass the stairs!

Pom Pom Yes Yes!

I have been creating paper pom poms for some special occasions that are coming up. Now, traditionally you would hang your paper pom poms from the ceiling but they also look really great hung on the wall AND cover up ugly nails too. I hung mine over one of my jewellery displays and I think it really brightens up the room. Why save them for a party?! I will be selling paper pom poms on eBay shortly.

P P Pick up a wall mounted letter!

I have decided on a seaside them for the staircase where I am creating a gallery wall full of our (me and the OH) seaside travels. I decided to put our first initials around the photo frames to add some interest to the wall. This is the first one finished! I hope you like it!

If you've got it flaunt it!

Hello! I hope you enjoy this new French style jewellery display frame. I created this frame (and more to come) as I was always forgetting what jewellery I had and some of my jewellery was never making it out of the box! Now, its easy to see what will match my outfit AND I get to show off my pretty vintage brooches all at the same time. You can find these frames on eBay and I will post any new frames as they are made. This frame can be found here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171089004791?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
